Igniting a passion for Jesus in New England

Special Needs Ministry

“He counts the stars and calls them all by name.” Psalm 147:4

If you have a family member with special needs, you already know that you have a Star. Like the stars in the sky, your Star is a unique creation, designed with a unique purpose. We want to meet you, support you and your family, and help your Star grow in their relationship with the Lord. We have licensed professionals and well-trained volunteers in place at our Bethel Campus to walk with you and your family.

9 a.m. Sunday

Students will be divided into two groups during the 9 a.m. service based on age and developmental readiness. This will allow each student to be in a comfortable environment that caters to their developmental maturity and spiritual growth.

  • Children’s Church: Children up to 15 years old meet in the Special Needs Room at 9 a.m.
  • Teen/Young Adult Church: Students 16 and up meet at the back table in the Windows Café. We alternate weeks weeks of teaching and sitting in Sunday 9 a.m. church service.

While your child or young adult worships and hears about Jesus’ love for him or her, your family is free to attend the Sunday morning service in the Worship Center, knowing everyone is in a safe, loving, adaptable environment.

We realize determining the best environment for your Star must be specific to their developmental needs and will work with you to decide which class is right for them.

Adult (18+) Community Group

Adults 18+ are invited on the  2nd and 4th Tuesday nights of the month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Special Needs room for a meal, worship and exploring God’s Word. We are excited to journey with adults with special needs as they grow deeper in their walk with the Lord.

We would love to meet you and learn more about your family. Please contact Katie at specialneeds@walnuthillcc.org so we can make your first visit go smoothly and answer any questions you might have.
