Our Nation
"...and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday."
Isaiah 58:10

Since the beginning of America's history, its leaders have called its people to acts of goodness, love, and generosity. Internationally, in years past, at times Presidents have led America to play a part in blessing, protecting, and even saving people and nations from natural, and human initiated disasters.

Successes and Failures...

History and news broadcasts continually remind us of our successes and failures. Our good intentions often produce wonderful results, but are not without mishaps. Our motives, although good, have been found to have gone off track and, at times, actually hurt those we seek to help.

Christ - the light of the world...

Christ is always the hope for a nation and His followers are the agents of His light. It is always the role of Christ followers to shine- and when they don't, to repent and ask for forgiveness. A nation can bring glory to God, but Christ followers must act.

Our first step should be to pray.

Praying for Our Nation
On our knees in prayer...

~ A nation's first act should be one of repentance - both personally as well as repenting on behalf of all Christ followers who have at times failed to live for God and His glory. Pray and ask for forgiveness as you feel led.

~ Ask God to help you identify five issues or people that relate to our Nation. Rather than pray against something, pray the opposite - the positive: what God would want to see. For example: "Lord, I pray that Your church in America would be strengthened to take care of the poor in its midst."
