Little White Boxes 2012
This Christmas, across all of Walnut Hill’s campuses, we again have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, both in our community and halfway around the world.
With the launch of Little White Boxes 2012, our Christmas Eve Offering Initiative, you can pick up your own Little White Box and start thinking about how you can fill it with money that will be collected at our Christmas Eve services.
It’s a great family project, too; children get to decorate the boxes, and families get to brainstorm fun ways to raise money (babysitting, doing extra chores, neighborhood dog-walking, bake sales, forgoing trips to restaurants, etc.)
Here’s where the funds collected will go:
Half of everything collected at each campus of Walnut Hill will go to the “Homes of Blessings”/Christian Service Society in Bangladesh to finish what we started last year when we contributed money for playgrounds and libraries. Of the five “Homes,” two still need a library and one needs a playground.
The other half of the monies collected at each campus will be used locally:
In Bethel: Through Jericho Partnership, we’ll provide fire safety and first aid/wellness kids for families determined in need. Families will also receive heating subsidies and will be linked with local churches and Christ-centered agencies.
In Waterbury: Through Acts 4 Ministry, we’ll provide warm bedding, blankets and Bibles to the inner city poor and homeless.
In Seymour: Through Hopeline Pregnancy Resource Center, we’ll provide car seats to moms so they can travel safely with their newborns.
In Derby: Through Noah’s Ark Early Learning Center, we’ll provide updated educational equipment for the classroom and playground.
In Litchfield County: Through Children’s Center of New Milford, we’ll provide tuition support for families that cannot afford quality education and care for their children.
More information about how the money will be used is available in an information sheet you can pick up at your campus.
