The following organizations are supported on a regular basis through our Church in Action giving.

BROOKFIELD, CT - Christian Counseling Center of Greater Danbury
Counselors here have served the needs of many from Walnut Hill and our wider community. The therapists are professional clinicians and committed Christians who integrate Biblical principles of healing with professional knowledge and experience. Their commitment is to the whole community, and they provide clinical treatment to anyone seeking help. For more information, go to www.christiancounselingctr.org
Pray: For Christ to continue to pour out His peace and protection over the CCC staff and for the CCC to continue to be a place of grace and healing.

GREATER DANBURY, CT - Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the greater Danbury area and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. They do this by mobilizing the local community to provide responsible home ownership opportunities to low-income families. Each year, Walnut Hill coordinates volunteers to work certain Saturdays to help build homes in our community.
Pray: For the many in our community who are in need of housing, and for the work of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity as it seeks to meet those needs. For more information, go to www.HousatonicHabitat.org

DANBURY, CT - Jericho Partnership
The Jericho Partnership was founded by Walnut Hill Elder Bill Beattie, and many of its volunteers come from our congregation. The Partnership brings together Christian organizations and local churches to be the hands and feet of Jesus in urban Danbury, focusing particularly on the youth, homeless and at-risk populations by providing health, education and housing resources.
The organizations involved include: Amos House, Athletes for Christ, Christian Community Outreach Ministries, Highways and Hedges, Hopeline Pregnancy Resource Centers, Pathways, Pathways Academy, Samaritan Health Center and Young Life Danbury. For more information, go to www.jerichopartnership.org
Pray: For people in Danbury who need Christ's transforming power, and for Jericho leaders to have "audacious faith" as they trust Him to transform the city for His glory.

Peter & Miriam Fretheim in Nigeria
Sent from Walnut Hill, the Fretheim family maintains a close link with many in our church family. Peter and Miriam work with City Ministries through various projects that focus on at-risk children, meeting human needs and using sports to reach youth. They also have close links with local church leaders and desire to see them better equipped for ministry.
Pray: For Nigerian street kids, that each will find safe Christian environments in which to grow; and that the Fretheims will feel God’s strength as they serve.

World Relief in Rwanda
This international relief and development organization’s mission is to “empower the local church to serve the most vulnerable.” This is done through Church Empowerment Zones in particular locations that train and support local churches to reach out. Walnut Hill’s relationship with World Relief Rwanda is focused on the Church Empowerment Zone in Kicukiro. For more information, go to http://www.wr.org/rwanda.
Pray: For churches working together in Kicukiro Church Empowerment Zone. Pray also for the many children and youth who need Christ-centered physical, social and spiritual support and nurturing.

Tim & Niai Byrd in South Africa
Tim and Niai Byrd, like their friends Andrew and Lauren Holbrook, are serving with Campus Outreach, but are based in South Africa. Their focus is evangelism and discipleship among African students. Their dream is to train indigenous leaders to one day take over their responsibilities on campus and to ultimately advance God’s Kingdom through the local church.
Pray: For them as they help plant a new church closer to the heart of Johannesburg and Witts campus where they minister. Pray that many students would come to know Jesus.

Vicki Beattie in Southern Sudan
Vicki, a long-time member of the Walnut Hill family, is involved in Community Health Outreach in Southern Sudan. Vicki trains and spiritually mentors Community Health Workers and Nutrition Assistants, encouraging them to be the hands and feet of Jesus to help meet the basic health needs of the under-served Mabaans. She is also part of a village church, sharing Jesus with women and children.
Pray: Pray for peace in Southern Sudan, for health workers to join our team (a doctor, lab technician, physician assistants, and midwives), and that the Sudanese would trust God for everything.

African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries across Africa
ALARM is an African-led ministry that exists to empower African church and community leaders to bring about holistic transformation to their broken communities. ALARM specializes in pastoral training, conferences and workshops on forgiveness, conflict resolution, reconciliation and servant leadership. For more information, go to www.alarm-inc.org.
Pray: That ALARM can be a leader in Africa, fostering spiritual growth and equipping leaders to be agents of peace, reconciliation and transformation.

The Christian Service Society in Bangladesh
This indigenous humanitarian development organization serves the people of Bangladesh. As a church, we have been supporting CSS to help commercial sex workers start new lives and provide a home and education for their children. We also support their Leadership Training Program to enable the development of more Christian leaders. For more information, go to www.cssbd.org.
Pray: For the women who are leaving commercial sex work and their children in school, that both mother and child will know the love of God and grow in their relationship with Him.

Hindustan Bible Institute and College in India
The ministries of Hindustan Bible Institute & College (HBI) was founded in 1952 by Dr. N. Paul V. Gupta in response to the challenge of developing national leadership for the church and mission, when India was transitioning out of colonialism into nationalization. The vision that God has given is to see dynamic transformational church in every village and colony of every town and city of India. For more information, check out http://www.hbionline.org.
Pray: For ministry to see 1,800 churches planted, disciple 50,000 people and equip 7,000 transformational leaders.

Rick & Carol McArthur in Guatemala
Rick and Carol are 30-year veterans with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They are involved in equipping and training nationals in media production, as well as training in the development and implementation of culturally relevant discipleship materials for oral cultures. One example: curriculum using finger puppet videos, with lessons designed for children in animistic cultures around the world. Pray: That they would be effective as they seek to empower others, and that they would be sensitive to the myriad issues that confront anyone working cross-culturally.

Jonathan & Valerie Brown in Brazil
Jonathan and Valerie were raised as missionary kids, with both families serving in Brazil. They now continue that tradition, supported by the consortium of churches to which Walnut Hill belongs. For the last six years, they have been serving the Yanomami people in the Amazon region of northern Brazil with CrossWorld. For more information see www.crossworld.com.
Pray: That their dream – seeing a self-sustaining local church established among the Yanomami people – will become a reality.

Jon & Janice Bergen in Austria
In 1998, Jon was sent from Walnut Hill to Austria to share Jesus through soccer - initiating the project Breakaway Soccer in Austria. This project in cooperation with Austrian believers reaches out to the inner-city kids in the parks, as well as creates outreach opportunities on the fields of soccer.
He has become the first American to receive the UEFA "A" (United European Football Association) soccer license in Austria. Through coaching elite soccer players, teaching in the public school, and instructing coaches for the Vienna Soccer Federation in Austria he is able to share his faith on a personal level with those involved in the elite youth soccer.
Pray: For wisdom and strength as we serve "IN THE WORLD, on the Harvest Fields of Soccer".

Terry & Donna Jeanne Schneider in Austria
The Schneider family was sent from Walnut Hill in 1990. They minister to refugees coming into Vienna through friendship evangelism, meeting practical needs, counseling and teaching God’s Word. They disciple and mentor believers and help local churches get involved.
Pray: For a close walk with the Lord and boldness to speak and act as God gives them opportunity. That God would call Austrians to this ministry and fill them with His love for the refugees.

Mark & Carole Watson in Georgia
Mark and Carole are involved in campus ministry and are trainers for leadership teams with Campus Crusade for Christ. They are in the Republic of Georgia, doing evangelism and discipleship with college students and post-graduate students. They thank God for opening up opportunities with several leaders in the Georgian culture, (two Orthodox priests and a professor, the director of an international school). They are pursuing in God's power and timing to train up national leaders who God can use to multiply the gospel throughout the country.
Pray: For effectiveness in sharing Jesus, so that many will come into the Kingdom.

Team in Kosovo
In partnership with a church in Albania, Walnut Hill supports a church-planting team in Kosovo.
Pray: Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit on the team to effectively share the gospel and that many people would surrender their lives to Jesus.

Ryan & Katie Enns in Pennsylvania
Ryan grew up at Walnut Hill and is now serving with his wife, Katie, at Providence Church, a church plant in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Ryan is the Pastor of Community and Care and among other things, oversees the local and global outreach efforts at Providence Church. They are continuing to reach out and partner with students, organizations, churches and businesses to see the Gospel move forward.
Pray: That the Lord would continue to give them wisdom, discernment and favor in the community as they start up Prodigal Transitional Housing, a ministry that will reach out to the under-resourced, as well as a community center that will serve the community that the Lord has placed them in.

Andrew & Lauren Holbrook in North Carolina
Andrew, the son of John and Lynn Holbrook, has been a part of Walnut Hill since it began nearly 30 years ago. He is now living with his wife Lauren in North Carolina, where they minister to six different campuses with Campus Outreach. They are involved in encouraging students to come to faith, discipling younger leaders, and linking them with the local church.
Pray: That many more students would surrender their lives to Jesus and encourage others to do the same.
The Global Church
Walnut Hill supports two missionary families serving the global church through training indigenous leaders in various parts of the world. To protect these individuals and ministries, more cannot be shared online.
Walnut Hill also currently supports two missionary families in transition at this moment due to personal situations.
