Serve at Walnut Hill

Jesus defined service when He knelt down to wash His disciples feet. When Jesus picked up the towel, He was demonstrating a way of life - and that way is a life of service. Our love for God, and therefore our love for one another, should be so great that we labor at serving others. In fact, the greatest expression of Jesus on this earth is when we, by the power and prompting of the Spirit, serve others.

  • Community Groups

    • Each of our Groups is led by a team of adult leaders. We need people to serve as Leaders, Hosts, Care Coordinators, Church in Action leaders, Emerging Generations Coordinators, and Discipleship leaders within each group. Time commitment: Two meetings per month.
  • Prayer

    • We regularly have training sessions to equip those who want to become Prayer Servants, and minister to our congregants in various settings.
  • Church in Action

    • Most of our Church in Action/Outreach opportunities can be found by clicking on the “In Your Community” link, but there are also opportunities to serve on our “Church in Action” ministry and integration teams. Roles and responsibilities include liaising with our missionaries, organizing activities, etc.
  • Care

    • Needs here run the gamut. From being part of a men’s team that does home repairs for those who are in need, to making meals for those who are ill, to leading a support group.
  • Worship and the Arts

    • This team ministers at our worship services across all campuses. There are continuous needs for singers, musicians, media/light/sound technicians, actors, and more. Click here for more info about getting involved with Worship & the Arts.
  • Multi-ethnic Ministries

    • Various opportunities are available for those who speak either Spanish or Portuguese, from translating our morning services from English to your language, to helping with administrative needs.
  • Youth

    • This ministry most often needs adult volunteers who have a passion for enriching the lives of teenagers. Volunteers may serve as Sunday morning small group leaders, as W.H.Y. Group hosts, or as worship leaders.
  • Children

    • Our elementary school team always needs classroom teachers and helpers to serve (work one/ worship one) either Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings. There are also opportunities to work in our “Special Forces” ministry, providing one-to-one care for children with special needs.
    • There is also a frequent need for adults to serve in children’s programs during women’s ministries such as AM/FM or MOPS.
  • Guest Services

    • These vital front-line volunteers serve guests and regular attenders in the parking lot, at our welcome desk, at the Get Connected table, as ushers, etc.
    • Each satellite campus also needs volunteers to help set up and take down material for the weekend services each week.
  • Windows Café and Library

    • Serve as a barista or work the register at our Bethel campus cafe
    • Take a shift at our Library desk or Resource Cart
  • Facilities

    • People are needed to take on odd jobs around Walnut Hill’s facilities.
