Pastoral Care

Our Care Team is here to serve you with pastoral care, by linking you up with a group that meets your needs or by connecting you to a pastor or highly qualified care partner who can share in your experiences.

  • Pastoral Counseling

Contact the care office at 203.796.7373 or care@walnuthillcc.org to schedule an appointment with one of the care team pastors: Jim Bray, Ruth Calver or Paul Cathcart.

  • Hospital or Care Home Visitation

Please notify the care office at 203.796.7373 or care@walnuthillcc.org if you would like one of the care pastors to visit.

If being admitted to Danbury Hospital, please ask them to notify Walnut Hill Community Church. They do notify the care office within 24 hours, however to ensure a visit, we would ask that you contact us.

  • Good Sense Counseling (Financial advice and support)

In consultation with the care team, ‘good sense’ counselors partner with individuals in financial difficulty (e.g. job loss, bankruptcy, college funding, foreclosure, debt management - to name a few) to provide advice and support and to help put in place appropriate plans.

Contact the care office at 203.796.7373 or care@walnuthillcc.org to schedule an appointment with one of the care team pastors.

Further information on the good sense program can be found at www.willowcreek.org/goodsense.

  • The Benevolence Fund Ministry

If you are in a situation of financial need, we would love to consider how we can help. For a benevolence application form, please contact the Care Team at 203.796.7373 or care@walnuthillcc.org.

The benevolence team will consider the application within 24 hours of submission and a decision will be given to you within 72 hours.

  • Project 1:27

The care team, in partnership with men’s ministry, has help available for a variety of practical needs for single moms, widows and those in need. This could be repairs to the home or car, a house move or perhaps something else that you just could not do on your own.

Please contact the care office to discuss the need and determine if it fits the criteria. A group of men, possessing both a wide variety of skills and a collective heart to help, are eager to lend a hand.

  • Chariots of Fire (Car Donation Ministry)

If you have a car you have been considering donating or would like to be considered to receive a donated car, please contact the care office at 203.796.7373 or care@walnuthillcc.org.

Any donated car can be itemized by the donor as a tax deduction in the year the car is donated. We suggest using the Kelley Blue Book value, www.kbb.com. A tax form will be provided for the donation; it is up to the donor to determine the value for tax purposes.

A donated car is free of tax to the person receiving it.

  • Lean on Me

Caring for elderly parents, or family members with special needs can be draining physically and emotionally. This ministry is here to help by offering one-to-one counseling by those who’ve been there, and help in securing resources to enable you to provide the best care to your loved ones.

Contact the care office (203.796.7373, or care@walnuthillcc.org) to get more information on these resources.
